Four years ago, Shirley Richardson started Vermont Chevon to solve a problem. Vermont dairy goat farms have an oversupply of high-quality livestock. Shirley knew that goat, which is eaten by most of the world, is a flavorful meat, lower in fat and cholesterol, and with fewer calories, than other traditional meats. Today the company partners with Vermont farms to provide a consistent, year-round supply of premium farm-grazed meat. Shirley’s mission is to put chevon on North America’s culinary map. Using the excellent visual branding created by Skillet Design & Marketing, we are working with her to spread the word through print marketing materials and digital channels. We recently created an e-newsletter, “What’s Cooking?,” to help create the buzz around this new addition to sustainable agriculture and American cuisine.
